About Me

The only excuse I have is a built-in brain bias toward worst case scenarios, and there are more worst cases working through their scenarios than perhaps at any other time in human history. It’s a dizzying array of disasters. It’s hard to know what to fear first or most. Every place you look some process or phenomenon is coming to do us all in. There are entertaining absurdities out there what with all these different bad newses tumbling into each other. Optimists are disappointed a lot; a pessimist is often relieved because things didn’t turn out as badly as had been expected. When I make a pessimistic prognostication, I always hope I’m wrong. Although I do believe that human civilization is “circling the drain,” I am quite ready to be proven incorrect. There are a lot of good ideas out there, but so far there are no activatable plans to get any of the good ideas enacted. Paranoid Pessimist challenges humankind to prove us pessimists wrong, to get it together and turn things around and save the day and bring us through to a better tomorrow. Surprise me.
